“As a White woman, I am not always comfortable talking about race, for the fear that something I say will come out wrong or be misinterpreted.
Like many White folks, the last thing I want to do is offend someone with my words or actions. Fleur has helped me understand that unspoken words and inaction can be just as offensive, if not more.
Impact vs. Intent, race is ALWAYS a factor, and we have to unlearn what we’ve been taught all of these years - these were some insights that Fleur shared with me after I had recounted a string of interactions at my work place where I had unintentionally offended several of my POC colleagues.

In our session, Fleur did four specific things that I found exceptionally valuable: 1) she was quickly able to understand the situation, 2) she didn’t judge or make me feel guilty, 3) she helped me understand why my actions were received in the way they were, and 4) she helped me see and appreciate the opportunity I have through these interactions to better understand race and the role it plays in our lives.”
