White Women in Fundraising: Feb 2023

February 15

Note: if you register with your work email be sure you can receive groups emails and confirmation. If not, use personal email.

Come join us for a workshop to explore the constraints and challenges of your own whiteness and white supremacy culture within your nonprofit workplace. Discover the ways that white folks perpetuate and uphold the harmful tenants of white supremacy culture. We will identify how to talk about it, what to do about it and how to bring love and authenticity into the conversation and release guilt and shame. Using examples from development work, this workshop is for any nonprofit worker who is interested in deepening their commitment to being in solidarity for racial justice.

Our work together will be anchored in Community-Centric Principles, including (Principle #2) the individual is not as important as the collective community, (Principle #3) what it looks like to be generous with and mutually supportive of one another, (Principle #4) valuing contributions equitably and (Principle #6), that we occasionally have difficult conversations.

Key outcomes include:

  • Practical tools for racial justice
  • Ways to identify white supremacy in yourself and your organization's culture
  • Connection with each other to contradict individualism and overwhelm
  • Learn formal and informal leadership tips for navigating conversations in repair

Refund policy:

No refunds are given after registration. If there is another series, people can transfer to that one if they can no longer attend this one.
